Caveat and the DC Science Comedy team are postponing this week’s show. We believe that a fun and distracting show is not the best way to serve our community right now. If you had a ticket you should have an email with further info.
Get ready for a kriller comedy show.
The oceans are a wondrous place that are home to countless animals, plants, and our favorite Disney movies. This World Oceans Day (June 8), we’re celebrating the beautiful Deep Blue with stand-up comedy, sketches, and funny conversations about the place that trillions of fish pee in. Learn about which marine animals are the kinkiest, how scientifically accurate Finding Nemo is, and what's the latest aquatic research in our popular segment, “Science News Live.” Think Saturday Night Live meets a late-night talk show, but with way more science.
About your host, Kasha Patel:
Named one of the "Best Undiscovered Comedians" in the U.S. by Thrillist magazine, Kasha Patel has a unique voice that draws on her experiences as an Indian American and her love for science. She gave a TEDx talk called “Sneaking Science into Stand-Up” where she shares a series of surprising revelations pulled from her analysis of more than 500 of her stand-up jokes. She has been featured in The Washington Post, BBC World News, the Travel Channel, the Science Channel, and hosted a mini series on NASA TV.
This quarantine, she has been busy producing science-themed comedy videos for her YouTube Channel.
About DC Science Comedy:
DC Science Comedy organizes Science Comedy night—a night where only funny science jokes, stories, and songs are allowed. Each show is unique ranging from shows about climate change to joke-telling robots. Some segments are more informative while others are plain silly, but you'll definitely walk away laughing and accidentally learning a fact or five. Past performers include scientists, NYTimes best-selling authors, Pulitzer Prize winners, and comedians from Comedy Central, The Food Network, Fox, The Science Channel, Conan, and NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

ABOUT CAVEAT LIVESTREAMS:
Your favorite nerdy basement club now hosts remote livestreams 6 nights a week! We’ve got special online editions of your favorite long-running shows, as well as brand new shows to expand your horizons.
It’s a strange time and it may only get stranger.
We’re a live, in-person entertainment company at our heart - streaming is new to us, and new to many of our performers. There will probably be glitches, unforeseen issues and awkward pauses!
But we’re smart, and we’re strong, and we’re gonna get through this together. A little global pandemic can’t stop Caveat shows from making you a little bit smarter & a little bit drunker!
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
All ticket proceeds & PayPal contributions are split between the performers you see on the show, and Caveat. It may be a while before live, in-person entertainment will be back in full force in NYC - Caveat is committed to providing livestreams sustainably for our business & our performers until then!
If you’d like to support us with more than a ticket:
Contribute to our recovery fund here: https://paypal.me/caveatnyc
If you are not currently able to afford the $5 ticket, we are offering a limited number of free tickets per show to those experiencing financial hardship.
