More Joy Less Pain

SUN // NOV 17

More Joy Less Pain is a candid documentary about former High Times editor Peter Gorman, his life with the indigenous Matsés of the Peruvian Amazon, and the use and practice of their traditional medicines, including Ayahuasca and Sapo [commonly known as “toad venom”].

Gorman is widely credited with bringing Ayahuasca and Sapo in to the Western mindset. “This is Peter Gorman’s field work,” says legendary psychedelic guru Terence McKenna in the doc. “He seems to know more about this than anyone else.” Ayahuasca and Sapo have received increased and often misunderstood media coverage in recent years, including recent “toad venom” scare in the New York Post. The documentary serves to dispel some of the myths around these traditional medicines and indigenous practices.
